SUMMER TRAINING REPORT

  1. The grading system

To obtain a Satisfactory Grade (S) from the IE299/399 course, the student

(i) should receive a Pass grade from the Summer Training Report that is to be written and submitted by the student at the start of the Fall semester, and

(ii) should have a satisfactory evaluation from the “Summer Training Evaluation Form” submitted by the company.

  1. Grading and Submission of the Summer Training Report

The students should submit their reports in the first month the Fall semester. The exact submission date will be determined by the course coordinators considering the current academic year’s calendar and will be announced at the beginning of each semester.  These reports are evaluated by the faculty members and/or the graduate teaching assistants using the IE299/399 Evaluation Form.

The reports are evaluated based on Style and Content.

The Style is assessed based on ‘Language’ and ‘Format and Organization’ criteria.

The Content is assessed based on the parts explained in the summer training reports.

To receive a Pass grade, the student should receive Pass from all components (each part of Style and Content). If the student receives Fail from any of the components, then the student will receive an Unsatisfactory Grade (U) from IE 299/399 course. If the student receives a Rewrite grade from any component, then the student should revise his/her report according the feedback given by the evaluator. Those students who receive a Rewrite in the first evaluation submit their revised reports in two weeks after the notification. The same faculty member evaluates their reports again. The revised reports will be evaluated based on the same rules. Related documents can be found under Documents section.

  1. Evaluation by the Company

The company evaluation form includes both interpretive and numerical questions. We expect that you obtain a minimum of 70 (over 100) from the numerical questions, and a positive evaluation overall (including the interpretive questions).  It is the responsibility of the student to make sure that the Dean’s Office receives the company evaluation form before the student submits his/her Summer Training Report.

  1. Turnitin Originality Check

We expect you to prepare original reports. Hence we ask you to submit your Summer Training Report to Turnitin and check its originality. Sometimes, Turnitin marks some generic sentences as non-original parts. We are not after such sentences but we do not want you to use some or all part of another report, document directly in your report. Hence, there is no minimum threshold to decide whether your report is original or not, but we are expecting to see a low similarity index.

You upload your summer training report to MOODLE TURNITIN ASSIGNEMENT.
